The United States rebuilt modern beer. From a post-Prohibition monoculture, the craft revolution grew thousands of breweries and gave the world hop-forward IPA, the taproom model, and most of the styles the global craft scene now takes for granted. American beer travel is regional: West Coast hops, New England haze, Midwestern lagers, and a brewery in nearly every town.
