The Prague beer guide
Prague pours more beer per person than any city in the drinking world, and pours it better than almost anywhere: unpasteurized tankové pivo — tank beer — served under careful foam in pubs that treat the pour as a craft of its own. Czech pale lager was born an hour away in Plzeň, and the capital treats that inheritance seriously.
Skip the tourist-trap cellars and follow the tanks: a proper hospoda, a světlý ležák at the right temperature, and the short train to Pilsner Urquell’s brewery gates make Prague the best-value great beer city in Europe.
