Why go
Brewing at this address is documented back to 1499, when the maltster Vít Skřemenec bought the house, and more than five centuries later the brewery still makes exactly one beer: a dark 13° lager you can only drink here. The waiters carry it through a warren of historic halls seating around 1,100 people, so this is Prague beer history at full tourist volume — noisy, unsubtle, and still worth one evening of any first visit. Nationalized under communism, the brewery returned to the founding Brtník family in 1991.
