Biergarten am Chinesischen Turm

The benches here wrap around a five-storey wooden pagoda in the middle of the Englischer Garten, and no other Munich beer garden has a setting to match it. The Haberl family has run the place since 1974, Hofbräu is the only beer poured, and the Obazda is still made to a 1970 house recipe — order both and carry them to a table under the trees. It is a fair-weather operation: on cold or wet days only the kiosk opens, so check the sky before you walk into the park.
