This is the world's reference smoked beer, served in a tavern first documented in 1405 and brewed by the Trum family in the sixth generation. Order the Rauchbier, tapped by gravity straight from a wooden barrel at the counter: the first sip lands like smoked ham, and somewhere in the second Seidla most skeptics turn into converts. The dark half-timbered rooms fill fast, so if there is no seat, buy a glass at the counter and drink it in the lane outside like the locals. Open daily 9:30am to 11:30pm, with a seasonal beer garden from Easter to early October.
