Why go
Licensed since 1766, with an interior essentially unchanged since its 1881 refit, The Long Hall is the Victorian Dublin pub the others get measured against: one narrow room running deep off the street, all carved wood, antique mirrors, red ceilings, and a collection of old clocks. There is no theater here beyond the room itself — you come for a slow pint of stout or a whiskey at the long counter, ideally on a weekday afternoon when the light comes through the etched glass. It opens from mid-afternoon most days, so plan it as an early-evening stop.
