The Shanghai beer guide
Shanghai is where Chinese craft beer grew up: the city that turned brewpubs from an expat curiosity into a scene. From pioneering taprooms in the former French Concession to ambitious local breweries brewing with Sichuan pepper and osmanthus, this is the most exciting place to watch the world’s largest beer market discover flavor.
The contrast is the point: a Snow or Tsingtao over street food, then a locally brewed IPA two blocks later. Few cities let you drink both Chinas in one evening.
